Prince Harry Will Be At Prince Philip’s Funeral

Spread the love

On Saturday, April 17, Prince Philip will be laid to rest in a low-key funeral with only 30 mourners attending. Philip’s coffin will be carried in a Land Rover (we all know Philip loved his Land Rovers) in a procession from Windsor Castle to St. George’s Chapel. Philip’s ginger grandson Prince Harry will fly in from California for the funeral. Philip’s funeral will be televised, so you better believe there’s going to be cameras on Harry and Prince William to capture all the awkward side-eyes they’ll throw at each other. But Meghan Markle will not be there because she’s 2Pregnant2Fly and is following doctor’s orders.

People reports that Meghan, who is reportedly due later this spring, is way too far along to make the trip back to London.  So in a move that totally works out in her favor, Harry will put on his big boy pants and make the trek back home by himself after not visiting his homeland in over a year. This will also be the first time that Harry’s seen his family since the Oprah interview where he and Meghan spilled all the English Breakfast tea like drunks at brunch.

Harry, 36, has always been very close with his grandfather, who would have turned 100 in June. They were often seen smiling and joking around while on royal outings together.

Philip also played a crucial role in Prince William and Harry’s lives after the death of their mother, Princess Diana, in 1997.

A source tells The New York Post that Harry was very close with Philip and would never miss his grandpa’s funeral even though things between him and his family are all kinds of messy. The Daily Mail also claims that Harry has been in contact with his dad Prince Charles as well as his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

And since we are still living in a pandemic, the funeral will follow government guidelines and Harry will have to quarantine for a bit once he gets to England:

With the guest list limited to 30 people under U.K. government guidelines due to COVID, it is expected that Philip’s immediate family, including his children and grandchildren, will make up the bulk of those present in St. George’s Chapel.

Attendants, such as the military bearer party of his coffin and the Dean of Windsor David Conner and the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby are permitted to be extra to that 30 figure.

While there has been a steady stream of visitors, from Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex to Prince Charles, palace officials will not confirm whether any of them are in Her Majesty’s so-called “bubble” and be allowed within close proximity of her.

The full guest list will be confirmed later in the week. Then, it will be announced who will be making any eulogy during the service.

In accordance with the latest COVID-19 guidelines, Harry will likely be able to quarantine for several days and be tested for the virus before joining his family for the funeral at St. George’s Chapel.

Those 30 guests better invest in a good pair of earplugs because you know Piers Morgan will be outside of the chapel, screaming about how that rude hussy Meghan Markle is so disrespectful for not showing up! And if she did show up, he’d be outside screaming about how that attention whore Meghan Markle just had to make it about her by showing up to the funeral.

And I can already see Harry giving his grandmother, THE QUEEN, a tight hug and saying “I love you Gran’mummy” right before the guards seize him and whisk him away to a part of the palace where he will never be heard from again.
