Addison Rae is a 20-year-old TikTok megastar and that means I know absolutely nothing about her. But she’s big with Gen Z. And both Addison and Gen Z need to go back and watch the cinematic masterpiece, Bring It On because Addison went on The Tonight Show and taught Jimmy Fallon some TikTok dances which were mostly created by Black creatives. So now she’s apologized and hopes to collaborate with those same creators in the future. Imagine if Torrance Shipman said to the East Compton Clovers, “Let’s collaborate.” Screw a remake of She’s All That, this is a shot-for-shot documentary remake of Bring It On.
In this classic scene from Bring It On, ageless, ass-munching Queen, Gabrielle Union, explains the issues with white girls coming in and stealing their moves, saying: “Here y’all come trying to steal it, puttin’ some blonde hair on it, and calling it something different.” Enter: Addison Rae. Jimmy and Addison did a little bit on The Tonight Show where he held up the name of popular dances on TikTok and Addison did them while displaying the charisma of a dried turnup and the energy of sedated snail:
HuffPo says that the internet immediately took issue with this. Notable faces, like The View‘s Sunny Hostin decided to @ Jimmy himself and shake her head at him for not giving credit to the predominantly Black creators of these dances:
This is a miss @jimmyfallon. Let’s give credit to the black creators…… https://t.co/4fy9p96J1G

And others had a lot to say on Twitter:
If people are wanting to know the creators of each:
Noah Schnapp – do it again
Keara Wilson – savage
yvnggprince – corvette corvette
Jason Derulo – savage love
2flyymy – Laffy taffy
macdaddyz – blinding lights

This is cringey. But what’s worse is that Addison has been catapulted to being the face of viral dances created by mostly black tiktokers https://t.co/t4cDsoTQ8l

I mean, that side-by-side is lethal. Compared to those two, Addison looks like a baby waving their arms around without spatial recognition or limb-control. And the way that she has such assurance in her moves when compared to what they’re supposed to look like. It’s like when I’m drunk and swear I know all the moves to Kill This Love. Do I?
TMZ caught up with Addison in Los Angeles and asked her about this. Addison admits that she didn’t do the dances justice and that it wasn’t her intention to steal the moves. Addison added that the creators were all credited on YouTube:
She used the excuse that it’s “sort of hard to credit during the show.”
Addison really needs to come up with her own dances but before she does, she really needs to watch Bring It On. I would hate for Addison to get swindled by hiring some fraudulent choreographer to make up a dance for her. Sparky Polastri can ruin no more lives!
